A rare James I oak coffer with panelled top, having triple-mpulded edge, three-panel front with carved rails and panels bearing the initials "EG", a decorative swirl in the centre and the date 1617 (with the "7" lying on its side) all carved and filled with pitch.  The iron hinges are original.
